Indiana's Department of Childhood Services West office is trying to make their facility a welcoming and comfortable place for the children that find themselves spending time there. They have three areas that are in need of a little support to keep them going strong. They have a kids area and library, a small use kitchen and a community comfort area. The kids area and library is in need of gently use books for children of all ages. It could also use some toys for babies through age 6 for children who find themselves there for a moment. The short term kitchen is used by children who have to stay at the offices for a longer period of time and need to grab something quick to eat. Foods that are easy to warm up in the air fryer or microwave are preferred. Think of teen favorite food like instant Mac and cheese, hot pockets, ramen bowls, etc. Finally, the community comfort area acts as a location for whatever resources the community may need at the time. Their main needs are easy to grab food items for families in need. Any kind of shelf stable easy to make instant meal is very welcome. Things like boxes of Mac and Cheese, Rice, Flavored Pasta/Rice meals, etc. Items that you wish to donate can be dropped off at the church and they will be delivered to the offices on Serve Day.
